Pippa
-
- (Bluealloy Pippa), black and white Border
Collie
I
saw Pippa at 10 days old and said I would
have her there and then.
She was bred by Barbara Swann, a
well-known and highly respected breeder.
She described Pippa as a ‘sensitive
pup, who would settle well in a pet home’
and I soon learned that such a description
was not best suited to a collie destined for
competitive agility, but at that time I was
not sure that agility was my ‘thing’.
She and I were trained, nurtured and
encouraged by Alan Robinson, in those early
years and I owe much to him for my love and
knowledge of agility. Pippa has been a
fantastic ‘first’ agility dog and both
Alan and myself have learned much
from her.
She is now 11years old and is royalty
amongst our ‘pack’, loyal and loving and
she has gained me many places in Starters
classes and at one time could have won me
out, but it was not to be…… |

Ted
-
- (Blueshee Ted), Tri-merle WSD
We
collected Ted one Sunday afternoon,
following a phone call to a ‘well known’
sheepdog trainer in Macclesfield,
Derbyshire.
I wanted a ‘working’ dog in every
sense and he was just that.
His sire was incredibly handsome and
his mother pretty and hard working.
Ted trained for agility and showed
great potential, he gained several places in
Starters, even winning Starters Agility at
Watford Limited Show. He was keen and fast
but there was something not quite right
about the way he worked…….
He was just three years old when we
discovered he had hip displacia and
spondilitis and I was told he should not do
any more agility… the rest is history.
He takes his place in our ‘pack’
as a very special dog. |

Remi
-
- (Ashpen Blues Remedy) Red and White WSD
I
resisted taking Remi, as I was still
‘smarting’ with the pain of the news of
Ted’s condition, but fate (and some very
good friends) took its course.
Remi comes from a line known for
their enthusiasm to ‘work’.
In her first full season of agility
she won 9 Starters classes and several other
places, including winning both Starters
Jumping and Starters Agility on the same
day. Now
competing in Senior, when I work her with
skill and confidence (not often enough!!)
she is quite capable of good places in
agility classes. She has trained exclusively
at Upanova Tigers and I owe much to Alan and
Jayne Bray for their excellent training,
support and guidance.
Remi is keen, intelligent and very
responsive, any mistakes she makes are mine. |

Stone
-
- (Blue Gem Stone)
Red and White Tri WSD
Stone
was bred by Estelle Boudet, he is out of
Mikas River Dream, her attractive tri-colour
bitch, Novice/Intermediate in agility and
Novice ‘A’ in obedience.
Sire is Bintibin Trick of Fate, CDx,
UDx WDx, obedience and Heelwork to Music.
Stone has grown into a big friendly
‘clown’ and loves everyone (especially
little apricot poodles with a very famous
Grandma).
Now just three years old Stone is
achieving top ten places in Senior and
Intermediate classes.
He qualified for the DIN Novice final
again last Summer (at the end of his Novice
career) and finished ‘runner up.
We also qualified for the first ever
Novice Kennel Club semi-finals but we
suffered the immense disappointment of
failing to get to Olympia.
Stone is a joy to own and run, his
enthusiasm and ability bears credit to the
Upanova training that encourages all dogs
whatever their nature to work away and find
great joy in their agility…. thank you
Alan and Jayne.
I
would ‘sell my soul’ to get to Olympia
with Stone….. ??!!! |
